Not far from the nth entrance of the big ranch they've fenced both sides of the road and they have a big water gap. I've had to dodge waterbuck, axis and black buck. Now this.
Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

There's another one that made it's way onto the big ranch, it was up on the flat top mountains with a couple of aoudad. Of course I didn't have the camera, early day and forgot it. Never again!

Do they catch them, or do they just disappear into the woods once they escape?

Do they catch them, or do they just disappear into the woods once they escape? Yesterday this one was joined by a couple of Axis, flagged down a roustabout crew and had them block the road. I moved in with my truck and we ran them back through the main gate, luckily I have a remote opener for all their gates. It's going to happen again until they completely rebuild that water gap.

One big rain and it's going to blow out both of those water gaps. If they get on the big ranch they're going to have a party, 32 square miles lot's of water.

Looks like they are using cedar for their fence posts, so that makes me think that they went cheap on all of their fencing. My guess is that they either don't care, or they are in over their heads, and either way, it's just a matter of time until the fence isn't a fence anymore.

Good heartwood cedar is not cheap as one thinks it is and has a life span that will last for a very long time. I have seen cedar corner post that were 50+ yrs old and still in great shape. I have taken cedar stays down that were 70 yrs old and still in really good shape. Drier the climate the longer that cedar will last also. They won't rust either. Fire is the one concern more so than age. Price good Hill Country Cedar corner posts...you will be shocked at the cost of an 8-10" top x 10' corner post then price a 14-15' tall high fence corner...if you can find them. Old growth cedar posts are not cheap. The cedar used in West Texas and Hill Country is a different cedar than those in East Texas.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?
