Got a nice Easter tom. Left Dallas at 2 pm 77 degrees and arrived in Montague at 4 pm and 46 degrees. Unloaded at camp, setup in a pop up with my 10 yo daughter on her first turkey hunt. Waited 10 minutes and called. Few minutes later a hen runs by with gobbler in tow. He stops and looks around and sees our dekes behind us this time. Dropped him at 30 yards. Decent 2 yo. Quick hunt. Got the fire lit quick to warm up. She said she is ready now but just glad for her to be there. She loves coming out here no matter what we do.

Freezing my butt off around the fire now! I think this is the best part knowing it will be 95 in 2 months!

Nice gobbler! Congratulations! As for 95 degree weather...I'm more than happy with what we have now...not looking forward to the oven type summers we have...

And stopped at the famous 407 on the way home. Daughter said it was the best brisket she has ever had.

Awesome. I remember when my daughter was young and we would have wonderful times together turkey hunting. Our place to stop for breakfast was Denny's. Keep her going, she will remember it later on.
Congratulations on your bird.
