Hey all, just wanted to put the word out on a great outfitter in South Africa. Great people from start to finish. Louis and Dawid, Father and Son and head honchos of Ka Maoto, bent over backwards to make sure we had a great time. I won a free hunt package and didn't feel pressured to add animals. If we saw something while out they'd ask if I wanted to add it, if I said no that was the end of it and we kept going. I didn't feel like they put me on cull or low quality animals because it was free, and they went out of their way in every way. Their staff and equipment was top notch, lodging was comfortable, and food was great. I know customer service is the name of the game, but I feel like I've made genuine friends with the Loots family. The concession was beautiful, quite a large place in the Kalahari. Very scenic. When we picked up Dawid from his house I saw a sign advertising Red Brahman on his gate, and he was over the moon to take time out of his day to show me his farm when the hunt was over. Louis showed us around his hometown and wouldn't let us pay for anything. I can't say enough good things and don't want to ramble, but call them for a great experience in South Africa. I am happy to provide more pictures, references, and more in depth details if anyone is interested!

Hey all sorry! posted some pics in the exotics forum so didnt know if reposting was ok. For those who are interested, gun was a 7mm Rem Mag with a Buckmaster scope and suppressor. Loved the set up. Very easy to shoot. Warthog Sow. Shot was probably around 200 yards, maybe a bit more. She was quartering away and my shot wasn't great and it was quite the walk catching up with her. Louis and Dawid kept on her somehow and we got her after a km or two. Shes not the biggest but I really like her character. Definitely really excited about him. He was facing us dead on from maybe 180 yards, Dawid coached me through the shot and I felt comfortable, took him in the chest square and he went down hard. Super intense shot sequence, wish I had a go pro for this one. Exactly what I was looking for in a Blue Wildebeest Bull. To me he is a monster, I know there are better out there but his stripes are nice and dark and love his horns. Decent Blesbok. Hit him a little back and had to take a follow up shot. Original shot was probably 120 yards or so. Definitely a cool animal, and very alert. Tough finding the right one out of a few dozen when the PH calls the shot. One of my unexpected favorites. We were headed to a waterhole in the early morning looking for impala when he showed himself. Shot was one of the longer ones I took, 180+ range and he went down pretty quick. Probably a tie with my Blue Wildebeest for my favorite. The herd gave us a run for our money but I took a 200 or so yard shot and she made it about 40 yards and went down. I was really pleased with her and my shot. Absolutely beautiful to me. Last one of the hunt. For those of you who have hunted the little duiker, you know he doesn't stand still very long. Took a shot while he was on the run, took his back leg out and followed up with the 9mm.

Thanks for the review, I've had them on my list of outfitters to consider when I go on my next safari.

Africa is a fun place to hunt. Headed over there in May for another hunt. Congrats on the nice animals.

I also hunted with them in November 2017. I had a great experience as well. The food was to die for and the coffee was unbelievable. I've already rebooked for July 2019.
