It had been since the end of December that I had seen hogs on this property, but the wheat was planted and barely sprouted. I knew they would hit it, eventually, but we needed rain. A few weeks ago (3?), we got rain and plenty of it and now the wheat is doing well. Then the random rooting spots started showing up. Still I did not see any hogs. I saw hogs on the neighbor's place, but not here. After a long dry spell, I found the hogs...

No wheat field here. Curious if they start hitting it when it’s first planted or not? Or wait for fresh young shoots ?

No wheat field here. Curious if they start hitting it when it’s first planted or not? Or wait for fresh young shoots ? On this property, the landowner had to replant over an acre of wheat where the hogs rooted the hell out of over an acre and the the owner had to replant. On a place with hunt about 75 minutes to the west, the hogs were following the seeded furrows and eating the seeds that had been planted. They would do this in lines, following the furrows. There there is just the random rooting for bugs and such that has nothing to do with the wheat, probably much like the damage see on the place in the video. The hogs weren't after the wheat, but something under it, although the hogs I shot were eating the fresh wheat shoots. When it goes to seed, they will be after the seed as well.
