I got one water trough persuasively leaking, drained it and it has a crack on the wall. Anyone know the best thing to patch it with?

If the crack is not to big might consider JB Waterweld.

Dap makes tubes of silicon based concrete patch. Might try that and once it cures maybe some spray can flex seal over the top for good measure. I've used flex seal on plastic horse troughs with some luck.

Depending on the shape of the trough you could buy a poly or rubbermaid trough to fit inside it. I have seen a minor leak sealed buy taking a bag of portland cement and stirring it into the trough to the let the seepage of the leak pull it into the crack. I have thought about getting a bag of bentonite and trying the same thing on minor a leak/seep.

there is a concrete wet patch that they sell in a paint can. Its a powder you mix with a small amount of water.. It works really well.

That will be a negative on the Flexseal, I found some patch material used for gunite/cement pools going to give a try.

go to cmc sheplers. get a product i believe is call krystal. clean trough real well. power wash. acid etch if real bad. mix product into a slurry. paint inside of trough fill cracks. keep damp. product grows crystals that fill cracks and voids and continues while wet.

Water Plug hydraulic cement, orange and black paint can. We have patched at least 7 water troughs with this stuff. I repaired two troughs with standing water in it, mixed this according to instructions, rubbed it on the hole or crack INSIDE the water. works great

I was looking at that and Lowes carries it. Thanks for verifying it works.

First off get it dry and clean before you do anything.
