You guys that are retired empty nesters, do you still enjoy cooking? I love it, but don't find it gratifying cooking for two. So, I cook rarely now and we don't eat as much as we used to. Now, you get me a few folks hollering for grub, I'll go to work and make what they want, and enjoy it. There is one caveat though, when I am dome cooking, I will not eat as I am full from tasting and correcting seasoning when I'm finished cooking.

Kids are both out for now, so we are still trying to recalculate the recipes for 2. We have started buying a few meals a month from a place called Dinner Done. They sell meals in 3 or 6 portions, it's all fresh and then frozen, comes with all the ingredients to prepare the meal and makes for a little variety. Definitely a time saver, and eliminates some of the trips to the grocery store that always cost me $30-$40 bucks.

You are correct about not cooking as much. I’m by myself mostly and I still enjoy cooking but don’t get the chance very often unless invited to cook while at friends or my kids houses And definitely I eat much less as I get older....all you can eat buffets are ripoffs for most FOPs

I don’t cook but the wife does.
Usually there is enough that we have leftovers the next day.

Good thing about the kiddos being gone and cooking, I can have whatever I want and season it however I dang well please (spicy). Daughters home from college for spring break, so one week of mild food, she is worth it

yep, I love to cook, for myself, for just wife and I or larger groups. When cooking for myself or the wife/I, I usually make enough for 4 people (2 meals for us each) for leftovers later in the week.

Try it for one. It gets a little old to me. I would go out for dinner more but going out alone is worse. I just won't do it. I still enjoy cooking.

Try Blue Apron. Let me know and I'll have my wife send you a free week link. We don't sell it or anything, but we have been very pleased with it after about a year and a half of receiving it.

I still do most of the cooking. Kids have been gone a long time. I just have the problem of making too much. Doesn't matter how much I plan to make, it is always too much. We have it for a 2 or 3 meals and then I have to finish it myself cause my wife gets tired of it.

^^ YEAH! That's my issue too. My wife still works though, so she will take it for lunch if she likes it.
