My parents recently purchased about 30 acres near May, TX and we put out feeders a couple of months ago. Lots of signs of pigs but never seen them while hunting in the morning or afternoon.

Last Saturday, we got down there late in the day and I planned to hunt that evening. We got there around 4 p.m. and I went to collect our camera SD cards to see if we had pigs coming in the morning or evenings. I just happened to grab my dad's 9mm Glock while walking out the door and I'm sure glad I did...

I walked up on this guy eating corn about 25 yards away under the feeder....

I drew and he turned immediately and snorted at me...

I let off one round trying to hit him in the head (I don't shoot pistols often nor do I claim to be a marksman)

He took off running to the left, so I assumed that I missed, and I let off two more rounds feeling confident that one of them hit him...

I walked towards the feeder and found a few drops of blood, so I knew I hit him somewhere. I could hear him breathing heavy in the brush about 40 yards away or so. I figured I better not chance it so I went back to get my dad and my AR.

We came back and found a few more spots of blood but nothing major, thinking it may have been a flesh wound...

Then, 40 yards or so from where I shot him, we found him dead in the dirt. I hit him with my first shot right in the neck/chest area with a hollow point!!!

What an experience!

When he first saw me...

Less than a minute later when I walked up after shooting him...

Where I hit him...

Sucker was heavy!

Heck of a kill. Smoke him twice!
