Headed off to the range with the .308 and forgot the damn chronograph, so did a 3 round group test with the MR-2000 and 185 Juggernauts in the .308 I never used MR-2000 and wanted to give it a try. Charges are in .3 increments as in order from left to right, 45.1, 45.4, 45.7, 46.0, 46.3, 46.6, 43.9, and 47.2 grains. Little wind from left to right at 5 to 8 mph and test is @ 100 yards. Should have done 200 but wind was acting a little weird. Velocity is unknown, but sure gives a sharper recoil than the 168 / 175's. Opinions on a node? I was choosing # 3, 4 and 5 and try again @ 200 or 300. What say you?

I like 5, but I think you should shoot all three charges again.

3 and 4 are a bit worrisome because it’s a lot of vertical dispersion

Nice shooting TD. What's interesting to me is I would think more powder would equal more velocity, which would equal groups having higher POI instead of lower.

Have you considered smaller increments in charge now that you have it narrowed down? Something like 46.0, 46.1, 46.2 and 46.3?
I was wrong...on anything technical. Fitz............. is right, ya know............

Any chance you pulled on 6? I’m more curious about 6 than 3-4. Not so sure, I was careful with each shot, but won't hurt to try again with 3 to 6. BigFitz, I will on the next time out to .2

Run the test at least at 200 or 300 yards and the answer will become more obvious.

Nice shooting TD. Poi is trending downward but flattens out at five and still has very little dispersion through six. The center of those two groups appear to be the same point. I would probably start .1gr below group five and go to .1gr above group six. Looks like its shootin' pretty good right in there.

You all have a laboratory precision scale; +\- 1mg ?
I have never found a scale that was any better than +\- 0.2 grains.

Group 4 looks like 3 in the same hole and one "flyer" if you want to call it that. Group 5 and 6 both look good. I'd group shoot those loads at 300 and see which one looks best. If they all still look good and ES/SD seem fine, I'd pick the middle one so hotter temps didn't hurt me.
