May best friend inherited this rifle and we were sighting it in before a hunt, when I felt something hit me when he fired a round. The hinged floor plate broke off and tried to bite me! Apparently this is not entirely uncommon, but it is not easy to find the hinged floor plate piece to replace. I read about a couple people using the detachable magazines that came with the original model (before they switched to an internal holding mechanism with the hinged floor plate later in the production run) and with some slight modifications, they were able to use the detachable mags without any issues.

So, I'm wondering if someone happens to have the hard to find hinged floor plate piece I could buy. Has an old beat up 810 AHT 30-06 sitting in a corner collecting dust I could buy for parts, or if someone has one of the magazines for the 810A that I could buy.

Lemme know if you can help.

This is the 1st rifle my buddy owned and I would love to surprise him by getting the parts - or a new magazine to get it working again.

Thanks in advance!
~George

Thanks for the idea. I tried them and Havlin first with no luck, then a couple other places. So far, nothing.

Hoping someone might have an extra magazine laying around, or maybe someone has one of these old rifles that they don't use anymore and wants to sell cheap to use for a parts gun?

Maybe upgrade it for him to the detachable magazine for about $100?

Thanks, Pug...trying to figure out that will work with the particular rifle he has. When I called Gun Parts the guy wasn't sure. Would be a slam dunk it if was...they are out of the spring pieces I need, so maybe a whole new set up like this would be the only way to get it.

Still hoping someone has a detachable mag laying around they don't need...as the springs on the attached floorplate models are known to break, often, and converting to a detachable mag "seems" fairly easy.

Thanks
