Hello all,
I just received news that we are losing our lease so I need to begin looking for something new for next year. We weren’t given much explanation but it sounds like the neighbors contacted the landowner and offered him more money without us knowing. I’m not sure what the rest of our group is doing so at this point I’ll be looking as a single but might have another person or two interested as well. I’m looking for a lease in the hill country area preferably within 2-3 hours of Austin but I’m willing to go further (or outside of the hill country) for the right place. Year round is preferred and exotics are a bonus. I’m pretty flexible on price depending on what I’m getting but I’m not interested in the South Texas prices. I’ve got a camper so water/electric would be a good bonus and I don’t need an existing cabin. Guest privileges would be great but are not a requirement. I’ve got two children who I want to teach how to hunt so it would be nice to be able to bring them out occasionally when I’m hunting. A little about me…..I’ve got 25+ years of hunting experience in Texas and I’m married with two kids. I grew up hunting our family’s ranch in Menard and in North Texas. I’m an easy going, hard working person who is willing to contribute whatever is needed to the group. I’m not the lazy type that misses work days or leaves trash around expecting others to pick up after me. I’m respectful of rules and respect the land like it is my own. I have a few blinds, 2 protein feeders, 7 spin feeders, feeder pens/t-posts, hog traps, and a bunch of other hunting gear I can contribute to the lease. Thank you for looking and please let me know if there are any questions you have or would like to speak on the phone. Our current landowner has indicated that he would provide a letter of reference if needed. Please feel free to PM me, email me at rexmitchell84@gmail.com, or call 512-762-8465 (please leave me a message if I don't answer).
