Just picked up a Tikka T3 in .07mm08 that I have wanted since Rin TinTin was a pup. I plan to shoot factory ammo for deer and hogs. I am considering the Nosler 120gr BT. I have had great success with the 139gr Hornady in my .280 so just wondering if anyone has used both and +s -s of both.

Thanks

-Z

While I'm sure they will work, I would be looking for something a little heavier than a 120 for my intended hunting round.

In my ex’s 7-08 T3 lite the 140 federal fusion performed very well on deer and hogs. I lost count of the animals killed but only one bullet was recovered in the offside hide of a large pig. The fusion always grouped under an inch with a best of 5 shot that could be covered by a quarter.

Sorry for jumping off but I’ve never used the ammo you’ve mentioned in said gun.

Go look at Chad's website.

I convinced him to offer heavier bullets than everyone else is offering in 7mm-08, and he does have them listed now.

My rifle liked the 120gr Fusion better than the 140 and it was a killer on five deer I shot with it. Large wound tracts and massive blood loss. All were recovered in short order.

My wife shoots the 120 BT. I’ve been impressed.

In a rifle of my own, I would opt for heavier bullets, but those do work very well on deer.

Tried a box of Barnes 120gr. On 50yrd range had 3 shot groupings in 1 dragged hole.

I loved mine (T3), have a cut-out of my best target still and you could cover the 3 shot group with a dime.

Want to say it was 42.Xgr of 4350 behind a bthp 162 hornaday. But don't take that as gospel, I could be mistaken as I do not have my notes in front of me.

The Barnes Vortex shot the best in my Winchester Extreme Weather.

I don't think there is a bad one for 7mm-08, Even the cheap stuff should shoot good out of your rifle

He77, its a Tikka,

What model Vortex you got on it???
