Several years ago I was working at a University Hospital Burn Unit. We had two helicopters for transport. Had a cocky second year Plastic Surgery resident that wanted to be first to the helicopter to offload a patient. Despite MANY warnings he did not wait for the blades to come to a complete stop before approaching offload doors. WELL........................one of the blades caught him in the side of his head. Luckily they were not going too fast- ended up with 15 staples to close the laceration. Almost got himself a "Darwin Award!"
