Maybe the Johnny Crockett in yours will keep him on the smaller end? Like I said, I'm excited to see how this pup progresses.

Gun's don't kill people. The Government does.

I killed eight gophers last year and a purebred Tennessee walking horse that was looking at me funny.

You could be right, Johhny was a 35lb dog. Don't know what his litter mates weighed but guess larger than 35, but the Bo side should put some leg under him.

What a stunning pup! I would love to have a Bo daughter. Maybe the stars will align one day.

Cool story. My first and only bird dog had Crockett bloodlines via Johnny Crockett -> crockett’s Deep freeze-> crockett’s Smoothe mover. The other side had assorted Tomoka variations. She died is September 2015. I haven’t hunted since.

Three things I like about Hank already. First he was chewing on the door knob into the house and I'm washing pens and shout HEY in a loud voice. He stops turns and takes two steps toward me and looks out to the pens. He knew it wasn't my "good boy" voice.

Second he looks me straight in the eye, always thought that was a plus in a young dog and a sign of trust.

Had a pup years ago that I thought about registering as 'pees like woman' cause he didn't lift his leg till almost a year old. At the age of 12 weeks Hank lifted his leg and peed into ole Franks pen. Way to go Hank, that's my boy right there.

That looking into your eyes tells me a lot. Buster does the same thing. Had several like that in my life. All gooduns.

Only my Britt has looked me in the eye. All the rest of the pointers I’ve had would have nothing to do with it. I’ll be looking for that trait in my next dog

What a great story. It never hurts to do some research on some of the greats (of any breed) to see if semen is available. Though I am not a big fan of AI, there are vets out there specializing in getting it right.

I've always thought of AI as a way to keep a line/DNA going for an extended period and allowing someone to use a stud dog even if on another coast or because of other travel restrictions. Guess I never thought about the negative side of the process (other than smaller/no litters etc.), expense etc. What is it that you dislike about it?

Congratulations on your historic puppy. IF he develops to your expectations, are you giving thought to breeding him? I have a couple of female puppies with Hytest Skyhawk and Ridge Creek Cody breeding that are showing lots of potential.

Yes sir, hope to prove him in front of a horse but if not in the rolling plains. Will be anxious to use him with a nice female and see what we get. He's going to be a handsome animal and hope a good kind of dog.

He’s a fine looking dog. I don’t have a pup this year yet but I’m taking one of my buddies dogs to train in a couple of months. I love having a pup to watch come along. Opening weekend is a lot like Christmas. I’m proud of everything I have in the kennel but the first year is always the most exciting for me.
