You always have the most awesome photos! Thank you for sharing them. I always enjoy them and they are great for showing to Dad and keeping him entertained with great deer pictures!

I always enjoy your great photos. I like that hay bale style blind in the 3rd pic. Did you build? can you share more info on that blind, more pics?
Thanks! That blind is a Midwest Haybale blind kit I bought on-line. I have had it for almost 4 yrs now. I needed to replace the hay-straw matte material after two years and did with coconut erosion matte material. That blind was rolled in the hurricane and is bent out of shape a bit. It came with a tarp to wrap the top and then I added plywood on each end, a door on one end and then 2"x4" for the bottom frame. I recovered the whole blind this year with black construction plastic, then put a black erosion/weed barrier cloth over that. Then covered it with the coconut erosion matte material. With the black plastic, black erosion cloth and coconut material I purchased I had enough to do 3 blinds total, so I built 2 more out of cattle panels and lumber. I think I have $175 in the plastic, cloth and matte. Then used scrap lumber for the rest. I will pick up the blinds this week and store them under a shed to get more years out of the coconut matte material. Here is a pic of the Midwest Haybale blind from 3.5 yrs ago and then this year. The first two pics are from 2014 when I first put it out and then in 2015. This pic is after I moved it and the hurricane repair. These pics are cell phone pics from this past season. They blind work very well and deer get used to them very quickly. These deer are all less than 20 yards and some are 10 yards away. I back these blinds into x-fenceline corners or into thick brush pockets to protect my downwind side. Would love to have a hay bale blind like that. But I would have to build a pen to protect it from the cows ...lol
I have a deer problem on my hog lease!!!

If I had to do it over again I would build a larger enough feeder pen(16-20 panel round pen) and put the blind inside it. I have also seen the blind made and cover with burlap to look like a haybale blind.

Awesome pics, as usual sir! A couple of them are even magazine worthy, imho. And I've always wondered about those blinds. They looked dang good in the advertisements. The deer sure don't seem care about them. Can you move around pretty quiet? What kind of floor do they have?
Mmmm Hmmm

This one is large in size at 6' long and 6'6" tall. With it round it is the widest at the window height. The base is 4'x6' so it makes it close to 6' wide at window height. I put one window in all mine to keep light out and any noise inside. The darker inside the better. I use a dirt floor in all mine so it is much quieter also. I use a cheap office chair from Wally World so that I only have to turn the chair to move for a shot angle. It is adjustable up and down for correct height to the window.
