I've never seen one. How common are they?

I have caught two and both were in Colorado County. This one was in 2011. Local biologist told me that they were caught or seen in that area on occasion.

Not a full albino as the coon does have some pigmentation (you can see the pattern in the coat), but certainly ablinistic.

You can google search, but it looks like 1 in 500-750K will be like this. I don't think anyone knows for certain.

Unfortunately I trapped this one once while trying to lower the coon count around my feeders. It turned out that a local game warden had released two of them onto the property I regularly hunt. He called them albinos, and they came from a property around Paris Texas.
On another note...I saw the other one last night while I was out watching for hogs. At first I thought it was a small coyote, judging by it's colors and it was about 100 yds. away...but when I got the night vision on it, it was obviously another one.

Back in the 80's (my coon trapping/Bluetick hunting days) we caught two, maybe three over the years in Lee county.

Not albino nor albanistic. It is leucistic. Condition is called Leucism.

I shot one south of Fredericksburg. They make a great mount, everyone that looks at mine has to take a second look and says what is that?
