And incredibly hard to post pics here. But you guys and gals have to be doing something to get you through this tough time.

Me, I'm trying out some new arrow and head combinations for my Black Widow. I'm selling my Big Jim Thunderchild longbow and I'm getting ready for some fun spring pig hunts.

Building up strength for bypass surgery and getting sores healed is my main job right now. Hoping to get ready for more shooting and hunting in the future

Man that's a tough row to hoe there. Had a cardiac episode Saturday myself. Gotta go through the stress tests circus and find out where I am as well.

Friends have told me the worst part of the bypass is the chest split. You won't be shooting for a while. I will say a prayer or two for you, your family and your medical teams. May Yahweh bless you with a complete recovery and better health.

Just got through building a couple dozen Easton 2117 XX-75's, getting ready for hog's and Javalina's with a recurve. Going to use my old Ben Person but I'll take the Martin take-down just in case.

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

There is never an off season when you live in Tx. Hogs, Turkeys exotics and small game to stick all year round. They get me through.

Built a backstop out of cross ties. Bought the land 35 years ago and have been meaning to build a range since day 1. By the time I got everything together, it took about 2 hours to complete. Had to get my butt back to the metroplex without firing a hanging a target or even firing a shot.

I shot in a TBOT tournament at Cowtown Bowmen over the weekend. I should have done better but I still scored a 251 out of a possible 360 in the men's recurve open class. Shot a second fun round on Sunday. I wouldn't mind doing that a couple times a month but many of them are further than I'd like to drive.

Sounds like a solid setup.

See if I can remember the ones I shoot most of the time.

Easton Axis traditional, 30.5 inches 75gr insert 150gr magnus broadhead or 150gr field points. For the bow that pulls 45 at 29 inches 500 spine and the one that pulls 53 at 29 inches 400 spine. The 400s have yellow and white fletching the 500s have red and white fletching.

Just wish I could shoot them now. Probably will not shoot any for a while.

Arrow Specific Weight (GPP) 9.7

Front of Center (FOC) % 21.5

Arrow Speed (ft/sec) 189

I was going to work on some .400 spine shafts but think I will order a new bow soon that shoots 52 to 53lbs at my DL and try to use those shafts for it.

Kmon1, hang in there. I've been dealing with CAD since 2005. Right now I'm scheduled for a stress test on Monday because my BP is elevated and even doubling my BP meds hasn't fixed it. My mother died at 50 years old because of this. My brother 49. I've had twelve and a half years after my first heart attack to live, grow and enjoy life. Mostly I'm thankful for being able to work til retirement and secure an income for my wife. That said I know Yahweh has a plan for each of us. I know each day is a gift. I know that if today He says come home I will gladly take go. But in the end it is His plan. Prayerfully his plan is for you to have long and prosperous life. May He richly bless you and bring you back to full health.

Off season?

Just a few days away from turkey season, then summer axis, then pronghorn in August, elk in September, whitetail in October....

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I will be trying to shoot a turkey with my bow for a bucket list item. But really, I don't like hunting them anymore. I hunt all year as well. But outside of deer season I play with things, tinker, tweak. During season I try not to screw it up. hammer
