I'm just about done with having to watch how much I use of it and rushing over on a day off 70 miles to buy H4350. I have too many guns that like it. So I am trying to find alternatives. Heck vhit is starting to look better and better even with that high price tag.

Yes, I bought H414 when it was about the only powder available and have been happy with it in my 260 with 100 and 120 TTSX's.

Actually found some H4350 later and ran some tests of both. H414 provided a bit more velocity, a bit lower ES and SD, and also slightly milder recoil.

It is somewhat more temperature sensitive, but I still prefer it over the H4350 at this point.

I no shoota da .260, but I've found Re16 to be a very good replacement for H4350 in .30-06 and by all accounts IMR4451 is right there too. One of the sleeper powders for the .30-06 is Ramshot Hunter---according to some who have tried it. One of the great things about Hunter is the way it meters. QL suggests it would work well in the .260 shooting 140s.

I've loaded up some 140 & 130 rdfs with each powder but didn't wanna burn bullets and powders of the overwhelming consensus is that it won't work

In my 260 I use 4064 behind 100 gr Nosler BTs. For the 120’s I use R17. Great accuracy with both.

I'm currently testing with the H414/Nosler 140 RDF combo and the initial results are quite good. Much to my surprise Winchester 780 gave good results in preliminary testing as well. I believe that RL16 will give higher velocities, but that's not really important for my application. FWIW, I had quite poor results with 4451.
