Unbelievably nice blinds. Staff is great. I tagged out on deer my first afternoon in the stand. Got one of the deer on video with the binox. I will give a full report when I get back.

I hope you saved a couple for me, I'm planning to go for next weeks hunt. Any tips you care to share?

First of all the blinds they have built are fantastic and roomy. The sandbags my gun was sitting on was like sighting in a gun at the range but this set up was better than the range I go to. They want to make it easy for all types of hunters with all types of shooting abilities. I brought the Mr Buddy Heater in the mornings plopped off my boots and it was like staying at the Four Seasons resort. I was dropped off at my blind at 2 pm on the first day and I set up with the feeder at 65 yards but some nice open areas up to 180 yards that was in range also. I was in Blind #8. Not much moving at all during the day. But about deer thirty (5:40) a 3.5 and 2.5 year old doe came in to the feeder. It was rather quick. I set my Binox on record placed it on the deer and got back on the gun. At 65 yards it was an easy shot and the deer just crumpled. The other deer took off and stopped about 110 yards out and made the mistake of giving me a perfect quartering shot. Sitting on those sandbags I knew I could place my bullet on a dime and sure enough I did and doe #2 dropped like a rock. I was stoked! So I grabbed my deer pulled them back to the blind and was the hero for the day back at the cleaning station. 1 other hunter had shot a deer that night but no others had seen any deer. I decided to go the next morning to see if any pigs or exotics or deer were showing up to this blind but nothing came out at all and the way the staff was talking there was very little hope of seeing either one of the categories I was able to shoot. So I decided to just watch deer elsewhere since there werent many coming to the blinds from what the others saw and I saw.

You pick your blind out of hat and you are stuck with that blind the whole time. They will not move you. Because of that the only thing I would do different was I should have went out and thrown down a bag of corn or more as soon as I got there. The feeders they had looked like they threw very little corn out from what I saw so maybe a pile of corn throwing out some scent for a few days may have drawn in more game. I would also make sure and not hesitate. If you can tag out in less than 5 seconds like I did then do it. I was regretting at first ending my hunt the first night but my staff "guide" said that they havent been seeing that many deer lately and I probably made the right decision. I think he was right. Im still cleaning and unpacking so I will post my video and pics later tonight or tomorrow when I catch up. 30-06 168 Gr Barnes TSX. Dropped em both like a rock!

I best not get drawn down there the way you describe the blinds..not only will sumthin like that SPOIL you forever, but my snoring will run off critters for several hunnert yards in all directions around me too. BTDT one time and my lease pard's had a ball with that TMI TMI TMI...Too much REAL mason jar cornlikker at the poker table the nite before is what I claimed...and YES it burnt blue in the spoon.

Good Report and confirms what I'd thought after having to drop out couple years ago with a bigtime flu/walking 'mononia I could not kick, and talking to the Hunt Mgr at the time. He said back then that the whole County had gotten behind the Lottery Hunt Program and chipped in for whatever was needed.

That is a great state park. I've spent a lot of time there, but never drawn for a hunt.

I dont think I will sign up again next year for inks lake. It just seemed like the animals were not interested in the feeders too much and not too many deer were coming to them.

But I am hooked and i will be spending a lot more money on these drawn hunts for next year.

I loved it!!
