The last quail hunt for my ole girl. She still has the nose and the drive, just doesn't have the legs anymore. Worked well, albeit slowly, for an hour or so. Tried her heart out for another hour - just couldn't do it. I had to carry her up the steep bluff back to the truck. Sad day, but she'll still hopefully get on some doves God willing.
The only covey we found. Working as slow as we were didn't help. I took a shot with my camera instead of my Franchi - the last point, not as stylish anymore with bad wheels.
Out like a light.
She got into rat poison a couple years ago and never really completely recovered:http://texashuntingforum.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/5699994/Rat_Poison#Post5699994
Last season we hunted in the panhandle a few times and I was impressed by how well she did. And yes, I spoiled the heck out of her now. She hasn't had her e-collar on or slept in a crate since her incident.
