I'm sure this is like asking where a unicorn lives... but I'm gunna ask anyways!! Lol... just this year found out how to go on to Corp land and hunt. Realizing the deer were hit real hard with pressure, I kinda gave up. Not sure how you would ever get one out from way back where I'm guessing they hide... so I'm shifting my sights to hogs. Seen a couple running by roads but any tips to bring them in? Seen alot of signs but out of a solid 2 weeks of hunting, ive not seen a single animal. Ha.. thanks in advance!

Hunt the freshest sign but find the thickest cover close to the sign and that's where the hogs will be

Just what he said. Find the freshest sign and get set up. Look for shooting lanes and either bring a ground blind or make a natural ground blind and wait for pig thirty. My advice is to be ready because its going to happen much quicker than you think. You will have about a 1 or 2 second window to take a shot. Good luck

Good luck. I have killed 5 with my bow this year out there this year. I left plenty for you. They kept eating the corn I was throwing out for the deer.

Wow!! Thanks guys!! Work has kept me from getting out since my post. But I do appreciate the advice. I couldn't really tell any signs were fresh while I was there. Saw a few signs of previous rooting but it looked old... I plan on getting back out there as soon as I can. Didn't expect anyone to respond!

Makes me wish I'd toughed it out and found a house in Bosque County after all. I found one to rehab in Clifton just south of the High School and looking west to the ridges with an un obstructed view that needed a total makeover inside and out, and the BH wanted something else in Meridian...and we both liked the ancient 1890's house that we missed in Meridian that had had most of the work already done...Oh Well mebbe next time.

Nice!! That's where I been hunting crankbait! Guess I do just need to keep looking Bigfoot, I have yet to even see an animal period on public land! Lol.. work is in full swing for a couple more weeks and then I should be able to go look some more.... do hogs tend to stay around the same area or travel around?

Ive had my best luck doing spot and stalk through the thick stuff. Just walk until you start seeing sign and then just take it real slow working your way in.

cheers agree with guysamson, yet, each is different. Have ta find what works best for one's self.
OSBWMA got off trails, eased threw woods, tall grass, switch-cain, palmedo plants, downed trees. When found fresh sign, slow down keep eyes roming looking for movement. Kick the dirt next ta sign, (rooting). Bigger the WMA better, hogs like deer, learn ta pattern hunters also, & with limits on rules, no baiting, no hog hunts at night, ta name few makes public hunts for hogs a hot spot.
Most hunters stay closer ta roads, & trails, farther back less preasure, & 98% time found hogs, didn't always get a shot, & friend said it best: put the camera down & choot-em.
Shortest hunt was when friends from FW area that used ta camp with, came down for hunt, we (they) had 3 hogs down with in short time.
Just gotta get out their, wether sitting or walking them up. Just enjoy he day, & don't pressure yourself, & let things happen. Archery hunts, had my canon camera & videoed. Best wishes,
We don't have hog hunts here, miss me time wondering about the woods at OSBWMA, from caveman, ta ice age, fishing on 2-15 inches of ice.

scratch cooler weather hogs will be more active. Hogs don't have sweat glands, one of the reasons they wallow & roll in the mud, cools them down, also helps with the ticks, fleas, & such.
Warmer weather, they move ore at night under cooler temps.
