Does anybody have a problem with the tips of their fingers splitting (skin). My dam thumb and 2 other fingers on my right hand and 2 on my left split on the corners. The cold and wet water contributes as I go thru this every duck season now. I'm sure I'm not hydrating enough but this is bad. Tender as all get out. This has to be duck weather related as I do not get this any other time of year and I spent 10 years up on roofs in the winter and never had this problem.

Yup just got back from a cold Pheasant hunt in KS and have two fingers split. Use super glue, works great.

Every duck season. Between the cold, dry air, and the mud, its bound to happen. Battle scars of chasing these bids people call us crazy doing.

Thatís what I do. Also use that cling surgical wrap. It will come off, I will squirt more neosporin in it and put it back on.

Never. I use decoy gloves when in the water. In the blind, I either keep hands in my pockets, wear gloves, have hand warmers or all three if itís stupid cold and Iím standing in water or something.

^^^This. Get a good pair of decoy gloves. Every time I forget mine I have the same issue you are discussing. Gloves are a must.

I also file off dead skin, helps prevent cracking, and also helps heal.

You going to the spa for that Guy lol! I wear hunting gloves while out but remove them to pick up birds/shells etc. It does not take much to get mine cracking. I took my wife to Mortan's steak house Sunday eve to celebrate the end of season and her getting her man back....could not button up my fly in the bathroom they were so tinder. eek2 I can use the lotions and wrap fingers in bandaids and such but all it takes is one day out and they crack up. Going to look for a special pair of gloves to use for next year.

No, I don't have time for that lol. But I'm telling ya it helps alot. I wear gloves just about all the time, launching boat, setting out deeks, pretty much the whole hunt. I will even take a piss with my gloves on, of course you got to have a big one tho to do this.
