I'm looking at these inexpensive, rough looking pistols. Does anyone own one and shoot it allot?

1. is it accurate?
2. Is it Reliable?

I have two. One is a full size 5" with night sights. It has been reliable and accurate since day one. I recently bought an Officer model with a 3.5" barrel. Had some problems with the firing pin stop creeping out of place and locking the slide halfway back. It also had a very erratic ejection pattern, all over the place. I sent it back to RIA for repairs and it went from my door and back in 2 weeks flat. They had replaced the slide stop, firing pin spring and stop, the main spring and the recoil spring all with Wolff springs. I ordered a Kensight adjustable rear sight for it and after fitting it to the "Novak style slide cut" went to the hay lot. Fired 4 magazines through it while adjusting the rear sight. Nary a problem. I will say that the 3.5" barreled model is less accurate because of the shorter sight picture but at 7 yards offhand it will put every shot in a 4" circle or less. Also, with full power loads the shorter pistol is a handful but cycles fmj, hollow points and a variety of my reloads with no problems. I think they are a good value. There will be haters but don't care. They work for me.

I own a Citadel 1911, and shoot around 100-150 rounds every other month or so. I've owned it for over two years, so I've put quite a few rounds through it. It did stovepipe once that I remember, and that was early in the life of the pistol, so I would say that it is reliable. There are certain hollow points that it does not like (185 gr). It tends to jam the bullet back down into the case upon feeding with these, but it feeds the heavier variety just fine. It is as accurate as any other semi-auto that I own or have owned. The action is not near as smooth as many other 1911's that I have shot, but it does the trick for the price.

Hey Bar-D, thank you very much. I'm thinking of getting one and having it coated, tricked up a little. I think I can do this for way less than $1,000 buy buying a new more expensive one.

My Officer model was factory cerakoted in FDE. I bought it mainly for carry while out working fence, feeding cattle or what have you. It won't bother me if it gets a little scratched up. The full size two tone is way too nice to carry while working.

I had 2, Buzz, .22 TCM and .45, boyh 5” barrels and both excellent. Did have to send the TCM in for some adjustment, same excellent service as above. P_102

Get a Ruger SR1911, maybe $100 or so more dollars than the RIA models. They have a bunch of models to choose from.

I had a rock island that did function just fine. It ate fmj fine but wouldnt hardly pick up anything hollow point. After probably 150-200 in parts and hours of working and polishing it worked alot better. Id spend just a little more and not have to go through the hassle.

This x 100

A ruger will still be better than a rock island + $200 in parts. And will hold resale better too.

At this price, it’s worth it. $389.99 + $9.99 shipping

You can buy that, put a few hundred into it, and have a great gun. That’s way less than I’ve seen them for in the past.

Have the 22TCM/9MM combo, fantastic for its price. Good trigger, double stack Mags, accurate and good looking. The TCM is a lot of fun too with no recoil

I have the original Tac model in 9mm. Never had a jam, but it's sloppy, and I wouldn't call it "accurate."

Sounds just like descriptions of HighPoint pistols except HighPoint is made in USA and carries a lifetime warranty.

Yes the descriptions and opinions ARE similar.. Firearms are not the same the opinions are.
