My Dad, my son, and I had the pleasure of hunting at the King Ranch this last weekend. We had a very successful hunt. My son was able to take a management whitetail buck, 4 hogs, and a Nilgai Bull. All of his animals were taken with a suppressed .300 BO, 150 grain Winchester Extreme Point bullets. He made great shots on everything and I am very proud of him. Not sure there are many kids as young as him to shoot a free range Nilgai bull. My dad and I also shot Nilgai cows. It was an awesome weekend. There is no other place in the world like the King Ranch. I am very grateful to have this opportunity and to share it with my son and Dad.

Growing up in Corpus seen a lot of King Ranch from guided tour to driving by many miles of it and seeing some toads in broad daylight. Is your family leasing a pasture or more a paid outing?

We have a good family friend who is leasing a pasture. He has had us down to hunt for the past 7-8 years.

Wow, looks like a good time was had by all. I would be real happy with that little old management buck.

Great. It went down with one bullet from the .300 BO. I wanted to title this thread "One for the .300 BO Haters." Heck of a round, especially for young hunters.

Nice shooting.
I have personally held this little weapon, I can tell you the OP made an excellent choice for a young hunter.

Oh and hey txmudder, let me know next time you are at the ranch, you promised me a Nilgai steak! clap
