Does the Hunters for the Hungry program warn recipients of deer meat about the possibility of deer having CWD? Looked up the program and they provide over 9 millions servings of venison per year. Sort of seems odd to furnish the meat if there is a chance of contamination of the deer. Any ideas on what is going on with this program in regard to CWD? I have donated deer to this program before and was just wondering.

There is no evidence it has ever been passed to humans. The program could be shutdown if the brain of every animal donated must be tested. What processor is going to keep them around and wait? Seems like it would get too costly. Ours already charges $45.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

Oh it won't be long before this program goes away. The threat of lawsuits over bogus science, and the power mad state/fed biologists will guarantee that.

That would be ridiculous. They could warn them about everything under the sun. “We don’t know how long the deer was dead before processed” “the processor could have touched the meat without gloves on” “the bags the meat was put in could have been contaminated in the plant they were made”

CWD is a tiny issue. Lots of other things will get people sick before cwd does.

If they were warning them about meat, it should be the processed meat they give away and people buy every day at the grocery store!

Grocery store meat has a much higher chance of killing you than wild venison. The leading cause of cancer and diabetes is processed meat and dairy products.

Very true. I really can't believe it has lasted this long. Butchered meat has to have Fed. Inspectors. They look at everything from when it was killed until it is put in the cooler. WT has none of this done to it. Gov. does not like anything done without its approval. A little Girl can't even sell lemonade from her yard in some areas and you think giving away Deer meat is going to last, Ha.

No kidding. The things people work themselves up about then turn around and ignore just baffles me.
