Went out and only had 4 slugs as I forgot 2 boxes of ammo at the house but still had a good time. Killed a big male coyote, about 120 lb boar, and a big raccoon to end the night. This thermal shotgun setup is a love hate. Its cool but im tired of carrying that heavy SOB around on Ft Hood LOL. The hog I was about to start calling coyotes when I seen a heat signature come out of the woodbine about 400 yards away, I instantly knew it was a hog and took off across the field with tripod and gun trying to intersect him. He ended up coming right to me and I shot him at about 30 yards. The coyote I was trying to call some hogs and had just started Hog Feeding frenzy and he came running out to inspect. All in all a good night just wish I had more bullets so I could have kept hunting.

Love the "dieing" cockroach position for the coyote. Nice shooting.

That's the way to do it!
Love seeing the warm wad peel off slug and go flying.

I bet you double check for ammo before you go out next time.

Cheers,

it’s very effective. I think this was my 8th coyote and 17th hog with this setup and only been using it since December 1st. Killed quite a few more with same shotgun and day scope.

You're using mind control to make me go buy a rifled barrel for my Versa when I don't need it.

shotguns are surprisingly effective and versatile but I’d much rather be using my 6.8SPC

not as bad as I expected. Not sure why it blows a big ole hole sometimes and sometimes it do t. Maybe depends on if I hit bone or not.

Thermal shotgun sounds fun but heavy if you need to scan a lot! Good job.

it’s not too bad and I scan a lot. Hand held scanner would be nice though.
