Just got my Vortex Viper 6-24 PST FFP back from Vortex. I think it has been 9 days since I mailed it. They were nice. They were fast.

Not remounting it till my torque wrench gets delivered.

Good to hear. I sent mine off today.

Did they say what was done to fix it, or was it replaced? If you mentioned it, I don’t recall.

Well, going on a fading memory, the problem seems to be me -overtightening the ring screws and crunching something inside. But he did mention something about an erector not being centered properly. I think that’s what he said, though I wasn’t really listening that close. I took it to mean that there was a problem in the guts that wasn’t my fault....maybe.

I sent off my old Leupold 6 power the same day. It’ll be a while before I get it back, i’m sure. It died from old age, with a lens loose and rattling around inside. I bought it at a gun show in the 80’s and used it for at least 5or 6 years, then sold gun and scope to my brother. Doing the math, I guess he had it at least 25 years. Leupold said they’d fix it or replace it, and I think that right there tells us why Leupold is held in high regard by a lot of folks. They’ve been around forever and will fix or replace a scope that old that broke through no fault of their own.

Yep. A fella I work with bought a higher end Leupold at a garage sale for a few dollars because the reticle was busted. Sent it off and they fixed.
