Normally carry a G27 in appendix carry and it works perfect for me, but I got a Ruger 1911 CMD 4" and I've been wanting to start carrying it.
First off it was wayyyy to heavy for my other belt so I bought a new MMAGPUL TEJAS GUN BELT to remedy the problem. That worked the gun does not sag anymore but it still printed so I figured it was the holster. So I did my research and purchased a Crossbreed Supertuk and Mag Carrier for the gun. Got everything in and put on. The holster helps a lot to keep the gun closer to my body, but even if I pull the belt as tight as I can get it which makes it very uncomfortable. I still print like crazy. I don't wear tight shirts but they're no where near baggy either they just fit I guess you'd say.
Is this just a losing battle to try and carry the 1911?

Kyle, the back strap of the 1911 is the hardest part to avoid printing. That's what sticks out the most and makes a nice little point through your shirt. A full size 1911 is a larger pistol for CC. Having a more loose shirt, or a shirt that isn't tight fitting will help.
But, I carry what I want, and I don't worry about printing, honestly. I carry a G23 most of the time now, and often my G20 in 10mm. I don't worry about printing for either. With open carry now, it doesn't bother me.

You’ll put in weight with your wife being pregnant, the printing will go away as you buy bigger shirts.
Seriously though, I conceal a P226 with rail and extended mag everyday. I don’t worry about printing, but do wear some XXL shirts

Like has been stated most people won't ever notice. I carried a 1911 of some sort for a decade and never had any problems, I used different holsters though. A lot depends on where you actually place the holster and pistol as well.

Lol my wife actually called me out and said your gun is bulging out that's when you know other people can see it.

When I buy clothes (pants and shirts) I but them one size too big so I can use them to carry. You do have to incorporate your wardrobe into your carry methods.

Just to be clear, you are talking about regular IWB, behind the hip right?
I’ve got all kinds of suggestions on how to fix your problem if it was AIWB, but I don’t think that’s what you’re talking about.

The 1911 is behind the hip about 4:30-5 o'clock. The beaver tail of the 1911 don't feel to great carrying appendix and the 1911 is a little long to carry appendix when sitting down.

I carry a commander size 1911 OWB and it prints slightly. Don't care.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Maybe I'm just thinking it, but when my wife tells me it's printing bad it must be because she isn't very perceptive. Is it printing all the time, shirt tucked in or out? Tee shirt untucked and printing all the time.

So what, carry. Who cares if it's printing. I open carried in the little store in Wolfe City a couple months ago, because I had been on my land all day, and was going to be in the store about 60 seconds, and go right back. I kept my arm at my side, over my pistol. Nobody gave me a second look. People have their heads up their a$$es.

They would think cell phone, until they saw his cell phone. Then, because of all the cell phones, assume he’s a drug dealer. And drug dealers carry, so we’re back to square one.

I will carry no doubt but if my G27 conceals and is more comfortable to carry I'll just not carry my 1911. They would think cell phone, until they saw his cell phone. Then, because of all the cell phones, assume he’s a drug dealer. And drug dealers carry, so we’re back to square one. Yea they call me the boss I carry 2 cell phones

Is it all the time or only when you wear your tighty jeans ? I don't own any tighty jeans. The jeans aren't the issue when I'm carrying strong side IWB I feel like I shop at baby gap for my tee shirts.

Tee shirt untucked and printing all the time. Try it shirt tucked in. I blouse the shirt all the way around it creates a space just above the belt. I have found this minimizes printing short of bending at waist, don't bend kneel. Have carried a 1911 like that for a very long time and never had anyone one ask a question.

You’re too fat....like most of us...Embrace it and carry at 3. Well that's what I thought but from what I've been reading is the "thicker" guys don't really have an issue with carrying larger framed guns it's normally the smaller guys that do.
