If you are talking about the pistol gripped ones they are worse than useless IMO.

This? https://www.remington.com/other-products/model-870-tac-14
We had one in for repairs, it might be useful to shot your way out of a hallway.
Difficult to point and grip position poor for recoil. 4 in magazine, for a shootout I would want more.

Yeah that actually looks worse than the pistol grips.

They are easier to manage than a pistol grip because recoiled travels down the arm and not focused on the hand and wrist. You have to spend sometime figuring out the best technique for you but if you do they are effective.

Very versatile.... up

I'm debating on getting the Mossberg Shockwave for a snake charmer on my Mule.

No more devistating than any other shotgun.

Yep, it's a Hollywood gun. You know, for shooting tannerite. You can shoot someones front door with it and it won't punch a hole in it, it blows it off the hinges and down the hall. You can also shoot a car with it if you want the car to blow up.

Novelty weapon! A short riot style shotgun is much more effective. I prefer the model 37 Ithaca (5 rounds 18 1/2 inch barrel) but there are many out there. Have an 8 round 20 inch model on order.

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.
