I have a Stevens semi-auto model 87D that was a Christmas gift from my Grandfather many years ago. I can’t even guess how many rabbits, squirrels, and red wing blackbirds I shot when I was a kid. I’d still be shooting it, but it has an ejection problem. The empty case isn’t being thrown out of the way, and the new round gets jammed up with it. Have any of you guys ever had a similar rifle and similar problem?

I’m going to get it out of the safe and tinker with it this weekend, and I could use any knowledge you guys have. I really want to start using it again.

I’d bet the extractor is gummed up.

Start with a good cleaning, and go from there. I bet if you tear it down, clean and oil it, it will work fine.
