Does anyone have preferred bullets to use for the 25-5 with oversized chambers? Iím not looking to win a shooting contest but here these oversized chambers can cause accuracy issues? I hear cast .454 work just fine.

Yes, this seems pretty common in the N8xxxxx serial numbers and specially for the 25-5. It seems to cause accuracy issues, which may not matter a heck of a lot if youíre just punching paper. I dropped a .451 (used for 45ACP but I donít have .452 or larger bullets or something to accurately measure the chamber throat) diameter bullet through the cylinder and it went right through.

While I've never tried I'm sure you could do the same with my ruger. Have you tried standard .452 with bad results?

No, I just picked up the gun a couple of weeks ago. I think Iíll buy some factory loads and a also borrow a .452 and .454 bullet from a buddy to drop in the cylinder.

As long as they are all the same size should be ok, need to match the bullet to bore diameter. I had to have my Blackhawks cylinders reamed to consistent diameter as they were pretty much all over the place mostly tight. Don't think it is as much a problem with jacketed bullets as it is with cast.
