Hey guys I've got around a grand saved up for my first suppressor, but not sure how to spend it.
Probably want to get a .30 cal for use on my 6.5 Creed because will probably be getting a 308 and 300 BO soon after.
Should I spend the extra for titanium? Should I go quick detach? Are there any models that stand out above and beyond in my price range?

IMO, I don't even look at price. It is a purchase for your lifetime. I look at length, weight, and decibel reduction. Yes, titanium is a must. I prefer direct thread. I've seen a few incidents with QD mounts. I direct thread mine on 6 rifles, and have never had a problem. Get a 5/8" x 24 end cap, as well as a 1/2 x 28 end cap.
Silencerco Omega, and Crux are on my short list for my second suppressor.

I've got an older Titanium QD and a newer stainless QD. The weight difference in negligible. Been shooting suppressed since 2010 with 30 cal QD and 22 cal direct thread. I prefer the QD because it is much easier to put a QD mount on than to get all my rifles threaded the same. Now, with switchable end caps I would probably go that route. The QD is much faster to attach though. Like Jason said, buy the best you can afford, don't try to save money on the front end, it may cost you on the azz end.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

If going direct thread take a really hard look at the Sandman TI. Built like a tank, really good suppression. I know a couple guys with those and I like them. I have a couple Omegas myself, among other things. Omega comes with both QD and direct thread mounts.
But honestly, Silencerco, Dead Air, SAS, Thunderbeast, Crux, hard to go wrong with any of them. All quality stuff, just need to find the right one with the specs you want. For me personally shorter and lighter is always what I look for as long as it maintains good suppression. But pretty much all my rifles hunt so carrying good is important to me.

I prefer the TOMB mounts on the SAS and Thunderbeast suppressors.
One of the best if not the best QD on the Market is Dead Air Sandman. Not too many stories of their suppressors flying off.
Two of my buddies got a Silencerco Specwar and both flew off.

BUY TITANIUM!!! Those couple of ounces don't seem like much until you're carrying your gun on a 5 mile hike stalking through the woods.
I still love my YHM 30 Phantom QD. It was my first and still my favorite can. It is heavy because I went the SS version instead of Ti like an idiot. Take JG's advice this is a life time purchase make it count.
The YHM doesn't get much love because of all the new and "improved" cans with flashy names. But, I still have guys send me PM's after shooting competitions asking what can I'm using because it is quieter than the other cans at the event. My next can will be another Phantom 30 QD but in Ti this time to lighten the load a little. Life time warranty, rated up to 300RUM, full auto rated, good for SBR's down to 10.5" on everything but 300BLK which you can go down to 8" with. It is a work horse and probably half the price of some of the "better" cans on the market.
I've also never had an issue with YHM QD setups, they lock up tight every time hell if anything I have problems getting the can off the QD not the QD coming loose. I have read some of the other manufactures have had problems with their QD systems though.

Thanks for the quick replies. If I need to save up another couple of hundred no problem. Not in too much of a rush since I wont have it in hand at the time money changes hand anyways.
I don't have the intention of doing mag dumps but I assume by the sound of the thread better to pay up and have it and not need it than need it and not have it. This is pertaining to full auto rated.

But Choose Wisely because this is a long term commitment.

I also have the YHM Phantom but in TI. QD. Also have the QD adapter to put the 30 cal can on my 223. Just one can for 5 platforms. Never had any issues. Have had it for about 4-5 years. Many many rounds out it. Still good as new. For me, and is just my opinion, I'd never get any other one. Its rock solid

I have a YHM Ultra Light titanium QD.... it think it's called a ULT. It's been a pretty good can, fairly cheap, doesn't weigh a ton and suppresses fairly well.
I also have a Thunderbeast Ultra 5, and I REALLY like it. The weight is something ridiculous like 9oz, and at 5" long it is very compact. I use it on my precision bolt rifle (6.5 Creedmoor) and a 12.5" 6.8 SBR. POI shift is extremely repeatable. It knocks the noise down very well, doesn't hurt my ears no matter which rifle I shoot it on. Any 7" can is going to be marginally better at suppression but I have a hard time telling the difference as the guy behind the rifle. I'd rather have the smaller lighter one. All I want to do is shoot my rifles without needing hearing protection, and this tiny can does that very well.
I bought the YHM first before I knew any better, but I only use it now because I can't sell it. If I had it all to do over again, I would have just bought the TBAC Ultra 5 and stopped after the first one.

You should look at rebel suppressors. They have a special on their creedmore for 175.00
I once drank muddy water out of a hoof print and was dang glad to get it.

Anything with a solid repeatable lock up and a good low tone is what you seek. The QD mounts that snug up to a taper do this best from what I have seen. Griffin Armament, Crux, Dead Air, SAS, and Thunder Beast are a few manufacturers which offer these mounts. Griffin Armament and Dead Air are my favorite of those. I would look at the Recce 7, Paladin, and Sandman S.
I prefer QD mounts because I like to move my can from rifle to rifle.
I am on the north side of Houston. If you want to try out my Griffin Optimus you can PM me.

Omega is meh, my next will be a dead air sandman What didn't you like about the Omega? My biggest gripe is that it isn’t as quiet as my specwar. The specwar is pretty much hearing safe on my CTR but the omega has a huge pop. Also the barrel length restrictions, can’t use the omega on my 12.5” 6.8. The omega is lighter though.

I have a Dead Air Sandman S, and it is great. I added QD mounts to 3 more rifles and use it on everything from 5.56 up to 7.62x51.
I also have a YHM Turbo 556 in jail right now. Hoping it'll be decent, and for the price, I couldn't turn it down. It'll go on one of my 16" 556 rifles and will probably never come off.

Anybody here ever shot Texas Silencer Company's 7.62 suppressor?
