We have this buck on our place that we’ve been seeing on camera for two years now. He finally showed up last weekend so we could see him. I watched him for a while and decided he needed another year. What do y’all think? Here’s a summer time and a deer season pic.

I would call him 5 based on the two pics. Nice buck.

His rack is most likely as wide as it will get throughout his lifetime, with next year being the beginning of a downhill slide.
Note too the wrinkled skin on the shoulders. Definitely qualifies for the senior citizen discount.

Yea it was up in the air. After a season of seeing many young good bucks I decided I’d let him get one more year on him. Our deer usually aren’t narrow like this one so he is unique. We will see him again this summer to see what changes.

Yeah should have whacked him. He’ll probably be smaller next year. He’s definitely mature. You might get lucky and he could peak at 6.5, but most likely he’d look a little younger if he was gonna do that. Heck, he could be 6.5 right now.

Never been to a camping world. I prefer Dick's to be honest.

I’m thinking he’s 13” maybe. That’s the main reason he got a pass. It’s been an off year for us so we let plenty of good deer walk.
