Lucked into this rifle on the forum for my 3 yo....the stock had been cut down for a youth hunter. He isn't quite ready so I wanted to make it useable for adults until he is ready.

I added an extension to the stock, removed the side cheekpiece, and raised and extended the center cheek rest. Now it is more ambedextrious. It is far from perfect but it should be serviceable for yotes and as a back up rifle if one of ours is out of commission.

Metal was blued and now it is coated in Duplicolor Engine Enamel with Ceramic and baked for cure. I have done Cerakote, Gunkote, and Duracoat but I could not find any local and I have heard good things about the Engine Enamel....we shall see. If it fails, I will redo it in Gunkote.

The stock is painted in Krylon.....NEVER BUY RUSTOLEUM CAMO PAINT....then covered in an automotive clear matte.

Wow. Looks very good! Night and day difference. Makes me want to try my hand at it.

Thanks everyone.....if anyone wants to do their stock, I am in Forney and don’t mind doing some or helping someone do theirs. I have the camo paint for this color scheme.

Rustoleum changed to a “green” formula and it doesn’t dry/cure well at all. I painted and stripped the stock 3 times before I Googled WTH was going on. Krylon was GREAT!!!
