back BOBO. I ain’t got the time nor the energy today. Just keep re-reading my post above in response to whatever rabbit trail trolling posts you make. I’m sure you’ll convince us all we do, in fact, need an AR with a 30 round magazine for deer hunting.

Sure people don't need a black rifle and thirty round mag to hunt deer. They don't need a feeder, trail cams, blinds, binos, scopes, camo, nice rifles, cheap rifles, and the list goes on.
All that's really "needed" is a traditional recurve, black powder rifle or maybe a break open single shot rifle at most. People use what they want to use. As long as they are following the law and being safe we should all be happy
And no I didn't kill a single deer with an AR this season, but I have killed hundreds of animals with one.

I didn’t “mock” anyone. I ain’t “worried” about anything. I simply said there are proper tools for whatever job is at hand. I get I can’t have a point though - even if that means building a strawman of things I don’t say just so you can knock it down and/or making silly statements like there is no such concept as the proper tool for a job. Discussing proper rifle choices for given hunts is no different than discussing proper gear choices for different hunts. Only the uber-sensitive get all butthurt about it.

Like clock work.... que up the victim response... time to bring in the wanbulance. FYI post 7041627. Where I quoted myself.... doesn’t mention you nor does it quote you. Simply says to each everyone’s own in the weapon they choose. Talk about real straw men responses... and the circle continues Wrong tool for the job.... interesting so now you are be all end all the tool expert I guess. I wouldn’t tell this guy it’s wrong tool. He was very happy with the achievement with his purpose built tool, that he was very hands on in building it. So much for to each their own..... but you atleast could compliment him on not using a 30 rd mag...since you have such a affixation with them....

This thread was never about the magazine's capacity but I'll say a MLD employee who needs to cull thirty doe with headshots. I'll add a Dexter type recovery team behind him for those about to ask about spoilage.

Like a buddy of mine that has a bass boat that can run 90 mph and people ask why he want's a fast boat. He said people just don't get it.Mine can run 60 but have never caught a fish doing over 25 mph. Each to their own.

I think people are too emotional and defensive about these topics.
Sure, use what you want. No one is saying you can’t. ‘Merica and all that. You can use a pliers to loosen a nut, a sledge hammer to drive a ten-penny nail, and a hacksaw to cut tree limbs too.
Doesn’t make it the best tool for the job. People discuss opinions on proper tools and techniques on stuff all the time without issue.
But, again, no one is saying you can’t do what you want.
I get errybody is on the OP’s a** and that’s the “cool” thing to do, but the simple truth is one doesn’t need a black rifle with 30 round magazine for deer hunting. That’s all he opined about, and that’s a fact. One also doesn't need to bash HF every chance he gets but you still do.

IMO, it is more about caliber and shooting skills then the color or style of firearm. What is practical for one, may not be for another.

I don't consider my AR a hunting rifle. I have it should I ever need a gun with lots of bullets to protect house and home in a changing and uncertain world. It might be a futile attempt, but I feel an obligation to make some type of preparation.

The purpose of the post was to find an explanation for using high capacity magazines to deer hunt. After reading thru all the posts, I do not see a single good explanation for their use. 1. That's what came with the gun. 2. In case you need a high rate of fire for predators, pigs, zombies that come in. 3. Good place to store ammo and it's always with the gun. 4. Cuz 'Merica, hell yeah. Now get back under your bridge. But the main reason is..

[s][/s]Hunting with a 30'rd mag offers more weight and more gun to get in your way so it doesnt make sense. "Why" is a good question. I keep my lucky number of 8 rounds in 10 rd mag. The most I have ever shot at a sounder of pigs was 6. and yes I do consider my AR an incredibly effective hunting weapon especially when stalking or hunting thick cover. I would feel at a huge disadvantage with a 3x9 scope and bolt action gun while hunting in dense woods

30'rd mag offers more weight... I keep my lucky number of 8 rounds... Cuz the weight of 22 more rounds is oh so substantial!

Not substantial but more unnecessary weight.the extra few inches it adds is not substantial but it is more. Less weight and size is better. Isnt it?
