Went back to where I bumped a buck this morning. Got there a little after 2. No stand. Just laid down on the back side of the dam. Couple does came and laid down about 75 yards out in the edge of the woods. I got worried about how close I was, but the wind was good for me. About 4:50 this guy showed up and gave me a perfect broadside shot. cow_doc, great buck sir. Congrats! If you don't mind, what bullet did you use? Shooting the Hornady Precision hunter ELD-X off the shelf. It performed remarkably well. Didn't have much blood trail though for about 15-20 yards. Luckily he only ran about 40. I found the deer before I found any blood.
