Ok guys..... my wife gave me a Hornady ammo plant for Xmas and while you would think that was a loving gesture, I'm pretty sure she was just trying to kill me by giving me a heart attack trying to get this damn thing to work.

I'm struggling big time. I have reloaded for a few years on a single stage, but this thing is whipping my butt. Is there anyone out there that would be willing to come to my house, drink a beer or two and tell me what the heck I'm doing wrong? I have case feeder issues, primer seating issues, bullet feeder issues, and don't even get me started on the pawls. Yes, I've watched a ton of videos, even highboy76 videos. I think I either have a lemon, or I'm just dumb. Could be either.

If I can't get some help, I think I'll have no choice but to put this thing back in the box and send it back.

I live in Sunnyvale, which is in between Mesquite and Forney. I would really appreciate any help.

thanks

I have one of those also, I would start off resolving issues at just one station and get those resolved, then move on one at a time until everything works properly. The pawls should have been properly set from the factory, I am willing to bet once you get those properly squared away a lot of your other issues will be corrected also. A little pawl adjustment will go a long way as far as getting the timing way off.

Yes, when setting up a progressive, you have to take one station at a time. Work that station over and get it running properly, then go to the next one. The presses are fully adjustable, and with the proper adjustments it will work fine. Read the manual on what adjustments are for each station. I have set up the many Dillon and Hornady presses, and once set up properly, they will work fine.

Take the case feeder and bullet feeder off.

Manually case feed and bullet feed to start.

The biggest issue is pawls start there. What’s going wrong with them?

Good advice here. Thanks guys. I think you are onto something with the Pawls and taking the bullet feeder off. I tweaked the pawls (again) and it sure seems smoother. No joke about tiny adjustments.

Since I took the bullet feeder off, it's working much better. Still not as smooth as some online videos but I think I can get there in time. Today was the first day I didn't have a tantrum and kick something so I think that's a good sign. Lol

Hold on to that woman!

Agree with others that you have to get one station working at a time on a progressive.
