So, i was looking thru cam pics and i see a buck on cam with a yellow tag in its left ear, this is a low fence area and no high fences within at least 10 miles that i know of, is there any issues with shooting it with a tag? i don't think there is but was just curious. Granted it isn't a great buck by any means but it actually has 2 main un-branched main beams on the right side.

I'd shoot it and take the tag out. Problem solved.

If he looks young and is staying around, Id consider seeing what he is next year.

it really depends on how the unbranched spikes are I guess. Would having the two on one side make it more than just a spike on that side? I would think so. This is where ar's can be tricky.

If he's possibly off a HF place, has double main beams, and is young he walks on my place for sure.

He is younger, the second pic shows the side that makes me wonder about AR.

I would let him walk and see what next year brings. I don't think he is legal in an AR country anyway the way his horns are.

He's not a legal buck if you are in an AR county. The right side has 2 points. Unless he's 13" or wider, which I don't think he is, he's not legal.

Same here, those look to come off the same base, meaning they equal a fork/branch. Yearling buck from the look of it-probably a pet.

Exactly. I see deer like this from time to time. They dont look great when young but put some age on them and they blossom.

He is a 1.5year old deer probably an escapee from a nearby ranch
Probably good genetics. Feed the heck out of the area he hangs around and let him grow up on your place.
Let him breed a while then shoot him.

Well, he is still alive, took a different deer. Talked to the neighbor and he has pics of him as well on the property to the south, he said his number is 30 on the tag. I guess there is a high fence not far to the north of this property. will see what he turns into.
