I feed her Blue Buffalo Wilderness Salmon that is 34% protein and 15% fat, but I am looking to switch her to Victor Hi-Pro that is 30/20. Please submit your opinions on the switch or any suggestions you may have on dog food. Thanks in advance.

If found, please return to stand or boat.

I think Victor is a high quality food and if I wasn't happy with what I feed now it would be my next choice.

Dr. Tim's Kinesis 26/16 and Pursuit 30/20 IMO are the best foods on the market for a number of reasons.

http://drtims.com/foods/dog/pursuit/

Why Dr. Tim’s?
Our chicken meal is antibiotic free with no added hormones.

Dogs and cats flourish on meat based proteins; our proteins are 87% animal derived.

Our Omega 3 fatty acids are mainly of ocean fish origin; ocean-derived Omega 3 fatty acids are more effective with dogs and cats than plant-derived Omega 3 fatty acids.

Dr. Tim’s protein, fat and carbohydrate ingredients are of North American origin – always.

Our starch digestibility is 95%.

Low ash proteins assure the highest grade of protein is used to benefit your pet.

Externally applied probiotics and prebiotics in the diet help your pet’s gastro-intestinal tract healthy – the start of your pet’s immune system.

Kinesis All Life Stages Dog Formula is appropriate for large breed puppies.

To ensure safety, each batch is tested for salmonella and not released until a confirmed, negative result.

No corn, soy or wheat

I feed Black Gold Premium Blend and my dogs look and feel great even when hunting lions in near zero conditions like last week. Hair coats are the best.
Adios,
Gary

If your dog looks good, has firm stools, endurance, and recovers quickly after hunts.
I personally see no reason to change foods.
I've tried a lot of different dog foods in the past, only because I had one with food allergies.
Blue Buffalo gave a lot of the dogs loose stools.
Half of mine wouldn't eat Victor.
Taste of the wild was okay, but dogs lost endurance.
Merrick simple fixed the allergies. Its pricey, and more endurance than TOTW. Also tried Fromm at one time.
What gave my dogs the most endurance, and quickest recovery time was ProPlan. For those against corn, it did contain corn meal. My dog is not allergic to corn, it was chicken, and something else that I was never able to pinpoint.

Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden.
Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

I have been feeding Victor Hi Pro Plus(Teal colored bag) for 3-4 months. Very happy with it. 2 of the feed stores in town carry it so that's a plus. It is made right here in Texas so I like that to. My picky eater eats it all everyday and the other dog eats it in less than 3 minutes. Stools are good firm stools. Very pleased with it.

I've had good success with Victor.

Check out Sport Dog Food. It’s what I feed my Brittanys and I love how they do on it. Ingredients are excellent, no peas. You can order directly from their website, on amazon, or on Chewy.com. The food is designed for active dogs.

I feed Victor 30/20 to pups and when hunting hard feed it to all my bird dogs. I think it is as good as anything I've tried.

I have been feeding Victor 30/20 during hunting season and the 26 with glucosamine during the off season for 5 years. I am sure that Dr. Tims is as good or better., but price becomes a factor when you have six dogs.

Ingredients wise they seem pretty comparable. Price and availability would go to Victor.

I like that I can talk directly to the owner of Dr. Tim's. like that they own their manufacturing facility. I like that they started as a home grown small business and use all North America sourced ingredients.

Victor may have some of these similar qualities I just don't know as much about them.

There has been a few times I couldn't get Pursuit from Dr. Tim's because they are a relatively small company with high demand. I like to continue to support them but if availability became a big issue I'd switch to Victor.

I fed Victor to my previous lab and he scarfed it down. My new lab pup (9 mos) doesn't really eat it well. It could be that she is just a different eater than my previous dog, but regardless I had great luck with it on him. It was a lot cheaper than some of the other options.

I've been feeding Victor grain free with glucosamine for 6+ years. My dogs do great on it.

I use victor hi-pro on my dogs for the last couple years. One is a GSP and the other a Pudelpointer. They've always been good eater, but they like it and it is easy to regulate their weight with it.
