This was a big year for me and the coyotes, despite the fact that I find them to be a most frustrating target. They are tough to stalk, sometimes call wary, small, quick, and often run in evasive patterns that make hitting them on the run difficult. I managed to drop and recover 46 for the year and ended up with working video on 37 of them. Distances range from <25 yards to 255 yards. Most were typical younger adult and adult coyotes, but three stood out as they had severe sarcoptic mange (Chupacabras). Most were shot while stationary, but some while walking and a couple on the run...

People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf
