Took him to my lease, his spot hasn't been good to him this year, and within an hour he had a cool little 8 point on the ground. He made a great shot at 308 yards. I'm happy for him. Hopefully something bigger shows up by this weekend if not I'll eat a buck tag for the 3rd year, but that's fine with me either way.

Heck, I have trouble seeing a deer at 300 yards, much less hitting it with a bullet.

I'll admit I probably couldn't have made the shot. I don't practice at 300 much. When he stepped out I couldn't even see horns, thought it was a doe. He checked through the scope and said, "mature 8". I said if you can hit him from here take him. Safety comes off, boom, dead deer. I was a little impressed honestly.
