That's hunting! Good job. I think you should get a few points for getting on the ground and putting yourself where you thought the deer would be. There's something to be said for hunting off of the ground. Don't get me wrong, I divide my time between a blind and hunting off of the ground on the river camo'd up. Getting it done the way you did is a challenge. Congratulations.
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

Like you I split my time between a blind and hunting off the ground but hunting off the ground has been my preferred method over the years and has yielded my best deer. Seems laying at the end of a hand corned road or sendero beats sitting over a feeder every time in my neck of the woods.
