I’ve been looking for a more up to date GIS app or website for a while. Google earth and others are years behind. This one seems to be only about 1 year out dated. And it works easily on iPhones!!! GIS Viewer Do y’all know of any others that are more up to date? Thanks.

That is an excellent historic viewer of the original settled land ownership. I am curious as to what you are looking for in a GIS map. New land ownership, public lands, roads, trails? OnX maps has great new land ownership, trails, and public lands bounderies.

Ah, I do not know who has the most up-to-date satellite pictures. But thanks for the GLO link. That has some great info that I can use.

The imagery maps to that link are at least 4 years old! At least based upon the area of my lease in Comanche. Maps.Google.com is about 18 months old for the same area.

For my place it’s only 13 months old because my house is there and wasn’t there before that. I noticed that if you zoom all the way in it gets older but a little higher up it is 13 months old. Also maps.google.com is about 3 years old for my place. I guess it depends on the location.

Not all sat view/gps map sites are going to be up-to-date in all areas. Some will be better in some areas than others. My property used to be bisected by different updates, one that was less than a year old and the other that was more than 5 years old. Eventually, the older part got updated.
Bing has better maps than Google for one area I hunt in north Texas, but Google is better on my place in north Texas.
