Western edge of Erath county. 400 acres, woods, oats and coastal fields. 2 main stands. If I sit in the oat field 10 to 16 deer. There are 7 to 10 bucks that are out at different times, none huge. Back stand in the woods overlooking a feeder will produce 4 or 5 deer per sit. Little 4 point, Cornhog, will be there everyday. I have seen 14 different bucks at or near the feeder. Have pics of 2 nice bucks but have not seen them in person.

Shackelford/Callahan county, 480ac, 4 hunters. My 4th year here. Have seen anywhere from 2- 8 deer each sit. Mostly healthy young bucks and does. 1st year to actually see fawns. Lots of green this year from spring rains. Big boys not coming to the feeders. Wife and I killed 8pt's 2nd weekend of the season. Another member killed an 8 a couple weeks later. Other members haven't been out much. Best year as far as numbers. I've killed a yote and a pig in the last couple of weeks. I'm happy!

Val Verde County. Killed 5 bucks (8 points or better) 1 doe, 2 Bobcats. I have 4 blinds, average deer sighting per hunt=3. Tried protein feed (1st time) good results..beginning to see some exotics but timing is spotty. All in all a great season. 143 acres.

Actually, only during the rut. After Thanksgiving it gets tough.

Medina County, D'hanis to be exact. Earlier in the season I was seeing 3-6 deer per sit but lately its been more like 10-15 deer per sit, the cold weather has really helped.

Bandera County. 50 acres sandwiched between the state park and a dude ranch.

On opening weekend I killed an 8-point and could have killed a second one a minute later. Had one other nice buck visiting occasionally but didn't bother him. The entire left side of his rack is missing.

Sat off and on throughout the year. Saw 15-20 does every morning out. Saw hogs, hogs and more hogs on evening hunts.

Last Friday morning, I killed three does in five minutes.

Was a nice year. Three years ago I hunted all season and never saw anything...like NOTHING nothing.

Deer hunter seriously for the first time in my life this year and was extremely proud of the results. Hunted Edwards Co a few times during season and saw anywhere from 2-12 does each sit and 1-7 bucks each sit as well. Very exciting and was able to bring something back each time. Also got to see some really cool Axis herds, Auodads, Fallow deer in their different color various, and some turkeys too. Never seen anything like it and was like a kid on Christmas each visit. In the end I brought back a 9 point which is my biggest deer to date and took a mature spike out of the equation as well.

1 of ten hunters on 10,000 acres, southern Dickens county about 10 miles southeast of Spur.

Hunting has been tough until now. Seeing 3-5 deer per sit, about equal number of bucks and doe for first half of season. We shot two mature mule deer bucks, I shot one of them. Mild temperatures and lots of browse made mature buck sightings non existent.

Was just out between Christmas and New Years. The extreme cold weather and lack of rain has turned on the mature buck movement. I saw the big 8 that disappeared on me that I posted up last year and a 160+ twelve point. I would shoot the 8 though if I wasn't tagged out. He is a solid mid 150s 8 with lots of mass and nothing broken!

I'm meeting up with my brother in ten days to try to get him. I hope to post pics if we do.

800 acres Eastland county. Seeing 10-12 deer per sit with 75% being bucks.
Most bucks sightings have been younger bucks. Last weekend on my Saturday morning hunt the deer movement was great. My phone buzzes and while checking it I look up and I had a 150 class 8 standing on the other side of my feeder. So I'm sitting there with a phone in one hand and my riffle leaning against the wall as he walks back into the brush bang
I hate taking my phone out to the stand hammer

Western Foard County 2900 acres, mesquite pastures with big cedar draws. Finally getting better after the prolonged drought and the deer population has jumped in the last two years. 2-4 deer per sit with a few mule deer seen each weekend. We have more bucks than does and a bunch of good looking 3-4 year old bucks. We have only taken 1 doe in 15 years and average 4 bucks per year.

Menard I think we had a good year 400 areas 20-30 deer every sit 10-15 bucks low fence not a lot of hunting pressure around us. We do feed year round only four hunters. Hard to manage a lease with low fences but we try. We let a lot of big bucks walk this year. We shoot our tag out almost every year to manage the deer it seems every year we shoot our tag out the next year is even better. Of course this past year was very wet everything was green most of the year lots of feed.

8,500 acres on a 34,000 low fence ranch. Our group has taken one trophy and 5 culls, maybe 3-4 doe.
Big Mature bucks have been hard to find. Very few trophy’s taken off the entire ranch this year. If the wind isn’t howling we average between 5-15 +/- deer per sit. Definitely not the banner year we were expecting. But still good times!

Hopkins county, 160 acres, 5-6 deer per sit. Usually 1 buck under AR legal, a legal buck every 3rd or 4th sit. Took a legal buck 12/1.....LOTS of acorns. Last year 6-10 deer per sit, usually 2 bucks, 1 legal per sit. Did not shoot last year to let them grow.

Dickens county 160 acres hunted for 6 years: see 2 to 6 deer per day, 25% to 30% bucks. this year observed more bucks than ever. at least 8 different 8 points with at least 2 140 plus 10 different smaller racks. Wife and I both took an 8 point each ( one buck county). This was our best year for quantity and quality. Looking forward to an even better 2018.

Hardeman county, 2500 acres. 6-10 deer per hunt, mostly bucks. Didn’t see anything over 120”. didn’t pull the trigger this year. Two good bucks taken out of 10 hunters with some ot the other hunters shooting respectable bucks.

Uncle's place in Duval county - 110 acres usually just hunted by me and a cousin. Typically harvest a buck and/or doe per year. See deer about half the time and 1-5 the other half. Hogs are off and on. They were "on" this year with a lot of rooting right in camp! Got some revenge by trapping 3 and shooting a fourth out of a blind over the holidays. Mostly heavy brush.

Buddy's place in Kinney county -- 925 acres that he's had for 3 years now. Still shooting nothing but cull bucks. Typically see 10-20 deer with about an even mix of doe and bucks. Got two culls the first season and one last season. My grandson got his first buck (big 6) last year and a nice cull 10 point this year. Freezer is full!

Something wrong with our place. Never see a legal buck this year. See a ton of deer. Only mature back seen was broken off and ran in to run little deer out and left in seconds. Had 3 150 inch deer killed on neighbors properties we had on camera early. One was 170+. Feast or famine I guess but no middle ground. Our legal middle age deer seen never spotted again after opener

After seeing a nice shooter buck yesterday unfortunately on the move, my sighting ratio remained unchanged for season, .3 - 0 (all bucks) this season in 12 sits....

Leon County. Took my first ever buck (at 50 years old!), and it was off my own 114 acres. Mature 8-point. We've seen doe all season, day and night, but didn't take any. Will probably let my son take one for late youth season. Saw about 5 different mature buck day and night back in October. Since then, seeing about four or five younger bucks on the camera at night only.

Montague County. I saw an average of about 1.4 per sitting. I ended up with 3, a good buck, a spike, and a doe. I'm sure I saw the same doe with two yearlings three times. Pretty slow this year. What concerns me is ive stopped seeing does on the game camera.
