Wow, there is not words to express what she must be going through. Poor lady, lost her dad, husband and son all at once. Praying. The grief must be agonizing.

Very sad day for the family. Prayers sent. We all have used heaters like this and get complacent about the venting. ^^^^^ Yes...definitely want to have adequate ventilation...just to be safe. With a PROPERLY operating propane heater, the risk of serious Carbon Monoxide poisoning should be minimal (at 4% propane). But incomplete combustion to some degree is probably present in quite a few heaters that are infrequently used or inspected. Hence the need to ventilate ALWAYS. IF you are awake...when Carbon Monoxide poisoning reaches a serious level, you SHOULD be aware of it. Dull headache. Weakness. Dizziness. Nausea or vomiting. Shortness of breath. Confusion. Blurred vision. The trouble occurs when folks fall asleep (unaware of their changing condition) and are overcome. Very sad event indeed. And much too common.

We can all learn from this tragic event. I use a Mr Heater Big Buddy to warm our tent and pop-up camper. Its suppose to be safe for indoor uses but I just ordered a CO detector just in case. I'm praying for this family.
