I grew up around a lot of antelope, and this is not at all that unusual...they can be really strange animals. If you have some along a road, they will usually race you until they can cross in front of you, and it doesn't necessarily matter which side to which side. They will do about all they can to keep from jumping a fence as they just don't like jumping like deer. They will jump if cornered and necessary, but more often they will hit flat on their bellies and go under a fence if possible. Lots of guys hunt them by hiding along a fence, and having someone drive them along the fence line to the hunter.
They have all their own peculiarities.
