I just bought a Boyds for my 308 Savage Lightweight Hunter in Coyote.

I love the look. Post pics of your laminate stock rifles.

No. I had a gunsmith final fit it. It wasn't exactly drop in. I don't think it needed much tweaking because he only charged me $35. It's not been glass bedded. I will see how it shoots first.

Edit- It shot really well in the cheap plastic stock from the bench but I wanted something with less flex in case I need to shoot off sticks.

If the groups are stringing, or are more random, then you will want to bed it. Since you have an idea how it shot before, compare it to that, and see what you get. But bedding issues will generally be stringing groups.

I'm thinking this thread was a fail. I was trying to get people to post pics of their laminate stocked rifles.

I feel like Frank the Tank going streaking at the Quad.

I've got a Marlin 336W that has a laminated stock but don't consider it photo worthy.

Scott, that is a great looking rifle. I have no laminates or I'd post picture. Also, I'm not coming off a fresh pedicure like you so it would be distracting. hammer Again, yours looks great, the rifle that is.

Not a fail you learned you might need to bed the stock. I had a boyds stock and it didn't shoot as well as the plastic stock so I sold the boyds and put the plastic stock back on.

Maybe Today.

I've got several Boyd's laminate stocks. I buy them unfinished so I can do all the final fitting & shaping on them.
Never needed to bed any of them after I was done with them. Here's 3 of them,I got a couple more.

I don't much care for laminates or Savages but here is my plain 308 FTR model I made more user friendly by making some adjustable hardware and installing it along with a barrel and bolt change.

With some regrets i must say - these post of these laminate stocks look great. I purchased a stock walnut Boyd's for my Weatherby which is rather too plain or I will say it. Not as good was what it posted.

Their AT-One looks like a good option for those wanted adjustable cheek riser and LOP.

I've always liked the laminated stock on my model '94.
Please pardon the hideous cross bolt safety.

It seems safe to say, based on the comments shared, that laminates are not seen as a cheaper altnernative to a solid wood stock, but something that offers a very distinctive and attractive look.

Now I feel better about the laminate stock on my inexpensive "Walmart" lever gun.
