Seen this on Facebook. They are currently trying to find the guy.
They are on route with Game Wardens now

Charley Albert( parents name)
Need help. My son went scouting yesterday afternoon and has not been seen since. We believe he went to Lake of the Pines but may be at White Oak Creek. His last text to his friend was it 8 o’clock last night and said if he didn’t hear from him to come help but he did not give a location. He is driving a gunmetal blue Toyota tundra with a silver trailer and is driving a go devil 18 footWith a 36 ProDrive. My number is 903-452-5225 if you have any information. I’m trying to contact the Game Warden as we speak but thought this make it out faster.

Don't think they found the truck yet. I'm guessing he is around 17-18 looking at the post

Sounds like they found his truck and trailer at one of the White Oak ramps. Hopefully he just got the boat stuck / ran out of gas...been awhile since I've hunted out that way but cell service sucked back then. Hopefully they find him safe...I know that's a big area though.

Here is a description from his dads Facebook post

He went out to scout yesterday afternoon and went around a mile upriver at Top Hill on White Oak Creek. He drove the boat up a creek and walked to where the ducks were coming in. It was cold, and his phone died at 30% around 8:00 last night. He walked around 20 miles in waders. Feet are a mess, but he’s good. As we were preparing to unload the boat to start our search he flagged down someone who knew there was a young man missing. Close call. Thanks to all who shared and helped. That’s what hunters do for each other. I put out the call and had 200+ texts, calls and my best guess is there were 50 people on the way with boats. I can’t thank you all enough.

20 miles in waders.....yikes! I had to walk 10 miles in my waders one time, and that was absolutely miserable. I can't imagine 20 miles. I'm glad it turned out to be a happy ending.

Try breathable waders.

Why would he do that? He should’ve had a hand held GPS or notched trees to find his way back. There’s no water up there, the creek is 6ft from being out of the bank. I don’t know why you’ve even go up there. You don’t go to a 25k acre WMA that’s located in 4 counties without a GPS. I’m glad the young man is ok, but if you’re going to take off 100 miles from home, to a piece of property like that... better be prepared.

Glad he is OK.

GPS is a lifesaver, but I don’t always carry one.

Was woodcock hunting two days ago - got into some birds and when it was over I started walking what I knew was the right direction. I keep a small compass pinned on my bird vest. Glanced at it, and it told me I was headed in the opposite of the right direction. I was sure it was wrong, but that’s why I carry a backup compass. Pulled it out and - sure enough - I was heading deeper into the NF instead of back towards the road. This is all less than a mile from my place.

Moral: you can get turned around in a hurry in the east TX woods. With no compass I could have easily been in the same fix as this fellow. Only difference is it was not nearly as cold.

Lying is lying. Don't bitch about one doing it and condone another. That's called hypocrisy.
