Anyone that knows me knows that i rag on my SIL. Well he has been ragging me about not going hunting lately so i decided i would try to get a pig last night. I tell him i got to feed my grandchildren cause they are starving to death where he promptly ask me if i have seen them lately. Well i have had a couple of lone boars coming in to eat that are on my removal list so i figured i would try for one last night. Here's the way things went.
Arrived at barn at 5:14. Walked the 300 or so yards to my stand and got seated. Made a play on words for friends and then waited about 5 minutes. Heard what i thought was a deer easing thru the woods behind me. Couple of minutes later this, what appeared to be a small hog, came out of the woods. It was a lone boar and that was what i had come for but it just didn't look as big as it did on the game cam. Well i watched it for a few and decided nothing else was coming out so i took the shot and boy was i surprised when i go down and went over to him. Guess not having the pigs showing up every day kinda messed up my perception of big and small.
