About 45 years ago, Marlin 30-30 with 4 power scope. Had not seen anything at all that morning then while walking to the truck I got a nice 9 pointer.

I was 11 and shot an eight point that is still on my wall (he is a trophy to me ) with a 30-30. I was hunting by myself and I let 6 other deer walk that morning and couldn't let him go. Dad must not have been far because he was to me before I could finish my victory dance

Mine was in SE TX hunting a highline. A big wide six came out and I went for it. Being a young lad and was really excited after I shot I looked away too fast and didn't see where he fell. walked around for about 30 minutes in circles before finally seeing him bent over an old pine that had fell. Shot him with my pop's 30-06.

My favorite first deer story best friends hunting east Texas lots hunting not much deer Phillup pulls in camp chest out says finally got one. We all go out to see this rare occurrence at our camp. My brother the best hunter in our group looks over the tailgate there is this tiny nubbing buck He gets that little grin and says you sure did what you going to do with it? Phillup says think make sausage Tom another friend with very dry humor ask one patty or two ?

circa 1964 at about 6 years old, 5 point with a 218 Bee model 92 with side mounted 3x Weaver scope with post reticle. Sitting in a very tall sycamore tree, felt like 30 feet up (but probably 15') with my dad, deer walked directly under us and I shot it between the shoulder blades straight down, deer ran about 200 yards in a circle around the tree. Upon gutting it, the heart had been completely severed from the veins/arteries and loose in the chest cavity.

My first was in the 1970's while I was a seventh grader. Walked across the pasture from my parents house with my 35# Fred Bear recurve, cedar arrows fletched with turkey feather, and single blade razor heads. Climbed the limbs of a post oak and stood in a fork. Shot an 88# spike in the liver at 7 yards. It walked off about 30 yards and tipped over in plain sight. Gutted it with my dull a$$ old timer pocket knife. I still have the 7" spikes mounted on a particle board plaque with red velvet over the skull. I have been gut hooked ever since!

I shot my first buck in 92. I was 11. It was a junk 5 point and one of my best trophies! Shotnit with an old glenfeild 30-30 fixed 4 power weaver scope. Man I was pumped!

1980 I was 11. Hunting a family friends property with my 30-30 (pre 64) my dad me bought for $150. He stuck me up in a tree opening morning with instructions to only shoot a buck (Doe permits) were required in those days.) Shot a small 4 point right behind the ear at 100 yards. Couldn’t tell you where I was aiming but that’s where I hit it. lol, was prolly looking at that massive rack! Probably my best hunting memory.
