Looking to mount these on a Remington 700 https://www.midwayusa.com/product/129972...s-remington-7001. Can anybody tell me the size torx bit that's needed? 2. Can anyone tell me what the proper torque spec is for both the screws that hold the bases to the rifle as well as the screws that clamp the rings together? Called the factory help line and got no answer and sent off an email but who knows how long that will take......

I think it's a #10 Torx. I used these on a Model 70 and liked them. Ring screws, 15 in/lbs. I think I went either 20 or 25 on the base screws but it seems like it was on the package.

Unless they've changed recently the tool that comes with them is T15.
Base's 20 - 25 in/lb, I usually use 24 in/lb. (inch pounds) Rings 15 - 20 in/lb, I usually use 18 in/lb
On both I work up in small increments, not crankem down all at once.
